Boy's parents bring lawsuit against hospital

A patient can suffer great harm when a hospital and/or medical professional acts negligently in connection to the examination, testing or diagnosis of the patient. No patient should have to be subjected to this type of negligence. Thus, it is very important for medical professionals and hospitals to make sure to act properly when it comes to the examination, testing and diagnosing of patients.

Recently, a medical malpractice case has arisen in Maryland. The case involves a boy who reportedly received care at a hospital in Maryland.

The boy's parents claim that the boy received negligent care while at the hospital. Specifically, they allege that the boy wasn't properly tested. It has been alleged that this alleged negligent care caused a strep infection the boy suffered from to go undetected for a period of time and that this in turn resulted in the boy eventually having to have his legs amputated.

According to the Capital article which reported this story, the boy's parents have brought a medical malpractice lawsuit in Maryland against the above-mentioned hospital in connection to these allegations. Reportedly, a doctor is also named as a defendant in this lawsuit. One wonders what will happen in this case and how it will ultimately be resolved.

As the allegations in this case underscore, patients can suffer great harm when medical professionals and/or hospitals act negligently in connection to the examination, testing and/or diagnosing of patients. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals and hospitals make sure to act properly when providing care to patients.
