Physician accused of medication-related negligence

No patient should have to be subjected to medication-related negligence. Such negligence can cause patients to suffer harms. Such harms can have significant impacts on a patient's life. Thus, it is very important for medical professionals to avoid committing medication-related negligence when providing care to patients.

Recently, a case involving allegations of medication-related negligence has arisen in West Virginia. The case involves a man who reportedly received care from a physician in November of 2010 in connection to a procedure.

The man claims that this physician provided him with negligent care. Specifically, the man alleges that the physician negligently failed to adequately administer and/or prescribe proper medications to him. The man claims that this alleged negligence has caused him to suffer a variety of harms including:

  • Disfigurement
  • Pain
  • Mental anguish
  • Bodily injuries

A medical negligence lawsuit has been brought in a court in West Virginia by the man against the physician in connection to the above allegations. The man reportedly is asking for compensatory and punitive damages in his lawsuit. It will be interesting to see what happens in this case and how it is ultimately resolved.

As the allegations in this medical negligence case illustrate, a patient can suffer great harm when a medical professional commits medication-related negligence when providing him or her with care. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals are held accountable when they commit medication-related negligence. One also hopes that all medical professionals make sure to act properly when it comes to patients and medications.
