Woman brings lawsuit against doctor and hospital

It is very important for medical professionals and hospitals to not act negligently when it comes to the examination, testing or diagnosing of patients. Such negligence can be very harmful. No patient should have to suffer harm because a medical professional or hospital committed negligence.

Recently, a case involving allegations of the type of medical negligence discussed above has arisen in Texas. The case involves a woman who reportedly went to a hospital in Texas on December 22, 2009. The woman reportedly was experiencing diarrhea, vomiting, severe pain and a high fever.

The woman claims that the hospital and the emergency room doctor who provided her with care while she was at the hospital failed to detect a potentially life-threatening condition she suffered from. The woman claims that this alleged failure to detect her condition was the result of gross negligence on the part of the doctor and the hospital. The woman further alleges that the alleged negligent failure to detect caused her to suffer harm.

Reportedly, a lawsuit has been brought in a court in Texas by the woman against the hospital and the doctor in connection to these allegations. According to the Ultimate Fort Bend article which reported this story, the woman is asking for damages in her lawsuit. It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens in this case.

Patients can suffer great harm when medical professionals or hospitals commit negligence when it comes to the examination, testing or diagnosing of patients. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals and hospitals make sure to not commit negligence like that alleged in the case mentioned above when providing care to patients.
