Lawsuit brought against pharmacy

It is very important for pharmacists and pharmacies to not act negligently when filling prescriptions for individuals. Prescription-related negligence can be a very serious matter. Such negligence can be very impactful on its victims.

Recently, a case has arisen in Texas that involves allegations of prescription-related negligence. The case involves a store in Port Arthur, Texas. Reportedly, in April 2011, the store's pharmacy filled a prescription for an elderly woman.

The elderly woman alleges that negligence occurred in connection to the pharmacy's filling of this prescription. Specifically, the woman claims that, in addition to giving her the medications she was prescribed, the pharmacy also mistakenly gave her a medication that was intended for a different customer.

According to the woman, she thought that this wrong medication was one she had been prescribed and took it. The woman alleges that she suffered dizziness and ended up being hospitalized for several days as a result of having taken this wrong medication. The woman further claims that she suffered mental anguish due to this incident.

A lawsuit has been brought by the woman in a court in Texas against the store in connection to the above allegations. It has been reported that the woman is asking for damages in this case.

As the allegations in this case underscore, prescription-related negligence can be very harmful to individuals. Thus, one hopes that all pharmacists and pharmacies make sure to not engage in negligence like that alleged in this case. No individual should have to face harmful prescription-related negligence.
