Pedestrian suffers head injury when hit by car

When there is an accident in Boston, there are numerous consequences that can result from it. It can be a car crash, an accident at work or a simple matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. All can cause severe injury and lead to massive medical expenses and the need for long-term care. This is especially true if the accident involves a head injury.

A 27-year-old driver was recently arrested after he hit a pedestrian with his car. The pedestrian, a 38-year-old man, was airlifted to the hospital with a head injury. Emergency personnel were called at approximately 6:45 p.m. to assist the injured pedestrian. The driver stayed at the scene and when law enforcement investigated, they found that he was under the influence of drugs. He was subsequently arrested. The pedestrian's injuries are considered life-threatening.

When there is an accident with a head injury, other kinds of injuries or even a fatality, it's imperative to know how to move forward in its aftermath. Serious injuries often involve an extended hospitalization and the accompanying medical expenses. Some people are unable to return to normal and need rehabilitation, adding to the costs. It's possible that the injured person will need long-term care and have to have assistance for all the basic needs on a daily basis. This can place a hardship on the family both personally and financially. Insurers are focused on keeping costs reasonable and might make a settlement offer to preclude a legal filing. A family who is reeling from the injuries suffered by a loved one might accept it without thinking or realizing how vast the costs can be.

In this incident, a pedestrian is fighting for his life after a car hit him. The driver of the car was arrested for driving while on drugs. Because the accident has had such severe consequences, it's important that the injured man's family knows their rights. They should discuss the case with an attorney experienced in accident compensation as soon as possible.
