Couple claims negligence caused daughter to suffer birth injuries

| Oct 28, 2011 | Birth Injuries

It can be very harmful when hospitals and/or medical professionals fail to act properly when providing care in connection to the delivery of a child. When hospitals and/or medical professionals act negligently during the delivery of a child, it can result in the child suffering birth injuries. Birth injuries can have major impacts on a child’s life. Thus, it is very important for hospitals and medical professionals to make sure to not commit negligence when providing care related to a child birth.

Recently, a case involving alleged birth injuries and allegations of negligence has arisen in Illinois. The case involves a couple whose daughter was born in 2009. The child was reportedly delivered at a hospital in Illinois.

The couple claims that the hospital and its staff committed negligence during the delivery of their daughter. The couple further claims that their daughter suffered birth injuries, including brain and nerve damage, as a result of the alleged negligence.

Reportedly, a lawsuit has been brought by the couple in Illinois against the hospital in connection to these allegations.

As the allegations in this case illustrate, it can be very harmful when hospitals and/or medical professionals commit negligence when providing care in connection to the delivery of a child. No infant should have to suffer birth injuries because a hospital and/or medical professional acted negligently during his or her birth. Thus, one hopes that hospitals and medical professionals are held accountable when they commit negligence which results in a child suffering birth injuries.
