When a hospital or medical professional acts negligently when providing a patient with care in connection to a medical procedure, it can result in surgical errors occurring. Such errors can be extremely harmful to patients. Thus, it is very important for medical professionals and hospitals to act properly when providing care in connection to a medical procedure.
Recently, a jury reached its verdict in a medical malpractice case that involved a medical procedure. The case involved a woman who reportedly underwent a medical procedure at a hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The woman alleged that she received negligent care during the procedure and that her bowel and rectum were torn during the procedure. The woman claimed that the alleged negligence caused her a variety of harms.
The woman brought a lawsuit in a court in Michigan in connection to these allegations. A trial was held on this matter and the jury in this case recently reached its decision. According to the Ann Arbor Journal article which reported this story, the jury ruled in favor of the woman and awarded her a large monetary judgment.
No patient should have to suffer harm because a hospital or medical professional provided him or her with negligent care during a medical procedure. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals and hospitals make sure to act properly when providing a patient with care in connection to a medical procedure. One also hopes that medical professionals and hospitals are held accountable when they commit conduct like that alleged in this case.
