Lawsuit brought in connection to brain damage allegedly suffered by infant

| Feb 21, 2012 | Birth Injuries

It is very important for medical professionals and hospitals to act properly when providing care in connection to a woman’s pregnancy and/or the birth of a child. When a medical professional or hospital acts negligently in connection to such care, it can result in an infant suffering serious injuries. Such injuries can have significant impacts on an infant’s life.

Recently, a case involving allegations of the above-mentioned type of medical negligence has arisen in Texas. The case involves a woman who gave birth to a child in 2010. The woman alleges that a hospital in Texas and a doctor provided the woman and her child with negligent care before and after the child’s birth. The woman claims that this alleged negligent care resulted in her child suffering a variety of harms including severe brain damage.

The woman has brought a medical malpractice lawsuit in a court in Texas in connection to these allegations. In this lawsuit, the above-mentioned doctor and the above-mentioned hospital have been named as defendants. One wonders what will happen in this case and how it will ultimately be resolved.

No infant should have to suffer harm because a medical professional or hospital acted negligently when providing care in connection to a woman’s pregnancy and/or a child’s birth. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals and hospitals make sure to not commit negligence like that alleged in this case. One also hopes that medical professionals and hospitals are held accountable when they act negligently in connection to pregnancy/birth-related care and such negligence results in an infant suffering injuries.
