It is very important for medical professionals to not negligently misdiagnose patients. Diagnosis-related negligence can be very harmful. Sadly, such negligence can sometimes even result in a patient's death. No patient should have to lose his or her life because a medical professional acted negligently when it came to diagnosing him or her.
Recently, a case involving an alleged negligent misdiagnosis has arisen in Texas. The case involves a now-deceased man who reportedly received care from two doctors in connection to headaches that he was suffering from.
The man's wife claims that the two doctors were negligent in their care of the man. Specifically, the man's wife claims that the doctors negligently misdiagnosed the cause of the man's headaches as being stress or sinuous, when the cause was actually a blockage in the man's brain. According to the man's wife, this alleged negligent misdiagnosis resulted in the man not receiving proper treatment, which in turn resulted in the man's death.
A wrongful death lawsuit has been brought by the man's wife in a court in Texas in connection to these allegations. Reportedly, a medical center and the two above-mentioned doctors have been named as defendants in this lawsuit. According to the Ultimate Cy-Fair article which reported this story, the man's wife is asking for damages in this lawsuit.
As the allegations in this case underscore, diagnosis-related negligence can sometimes have fatal results. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals make sure to not act negligently when it comes to the diagnosing of patients.
