Lawsuit alleges medication doctor prescribed caused woman’s death

| Mar 28, 2012 | Anesthesia & Medication Errors

It is very important for doctors to not act negligently when it comes to prescribing medications to patients. No patient should have to be subjected to such medical negligence. Prescription-related negligence can cause a great deal of harm to patients. Tragically, such negligence can sometimes even have fatal results.

Recently, a wrongful death case has arisen in Texas involving allegations of prescription-related negligence. The case involves a now-deceased woman who reportedly received care from a doctor in Texas.

The woman’s family claims that the doctor negligently prescribed the woman an unnecessary pain medication. According to the woman’s family, this pain medication caused the woman’s death.

According to the Ultimate Montrose article which reported this story, a wrongful death lawsuit has been brought by the woman’s family in a court in Texas in connection to these allegations. In this lawsuit, the above-mentioned doctor has been named as defendant. According to the Ultimate Montrose article mentioned above, the woman’s family is asking for damages in this lawsuit. One wonders what will happen in this wrongful death case and how it will ultimately be resolved.

As the allegations that have been made in this case underscore, prescription-related negligence can be very harmful to patients and can sometimes even lead to a patient’s death. Thus, one hopes that all doctors make sure to act properly when it comes to the prescribing of medications to patients. No patient should have to suffer harm or lose his or her life because a medical professional acted negligently.
