When a patient undergoes a surgical procedure, they put a lot of trust in the medical professionals who are providing them with care in connection to the procedure. When a medical professional fails to live up to this trust and acts negligently in connection to a surgical procedure, a patient can suffer a variety of harms. No patient should have to suffer harm because a medical professional failed to act properly.
Recently, a case involving allegations of surgery-related negligence has arisen in West Virginia. The case involves a doctor in West Virginia. Reportedly, in 2010, the doctor provided a woman with surgical care in connection to a breast augmentation procedure.
The woman alleges that the doctor acted negligently during the course of providing this surgical care. According to the woman, this alleged negligence has caused her to suffer a variety of harms.
The woman and her husband have brought a lawsuit in a court in West Virginia against the above-mentioned doctor and a hospital in connection to these allegations of surgical negligence. It has been reported that, in this lawsuit, the woman and her husband are asking for compensatory damages. One wonders what will happen in this case and how it will ultimately be resolved.
As the allegations in this case underscore, surgery-related negligence can result in patients suffering harms. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals make sure to not act negligently when it comes to surgical care provided to patients. No patient should have to be subjected to surgery-related negligence.
