No patient should have to be subjected to surgical negligence. When medical professionals commit negligence in connection to surgical care provided to patients, it can cause a great deal of harm to patients. Thus, it is very important for medical professionals to not act negligently when it comes to surgical care.
Recently, a medical malpractice case involving allegations of surgical negligence has arisen in Illinois. The case involves a man who reportedly underwent a vein bypass surgery in Illinois.
According to the man, the doctor who performed the surgery committed negligence in connection to the surgery. Specifically, the man alleges that the doctor chose to perform a type of bypass other than the type that should have been chosen. The man claims that this alleged negligence resulted in him having to have his right leg amputated.
The man has brought a medical malpractice lawsuit in a court in Illinois in relation to the above allegations. The doctor and the doctor's employer have been named as defendants in this lawsuit. Reportedly, in this lawsuit, the man is asking for damages. It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens in this case.
Negligence like that alleged in the above-discussed medical malpractice case can be very harmful to patients. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals make sure to act properly when it comes to the surgical care of patients. One also hopes that medical professionals are held accountable when they commit surgical negligence and such negligence results in a patient suffering harm.
