No patient should have to be subjected to surgical negligence. Thus, it is very important for medical professionals to act properly when performing surgical procedures.
When a medical professional acts negligently during the performance of a surgery, it can result in harmful surgical errors occurring. Such errors can be very impactful on a patient.
Recently, a medical malpractice case has arisen involving an alleged surgical error. The case is from Illinois. The case involves a man who underwent a surgical procedure. The surgery reportedly was on the man's back.
The man claims that the doctor who performed this back surgery committed negligence in connection to the procedure. Specifically, the man alleges that the doctor mistakenly operated on a different part of the man's back than the part the surgery was supposed to be on. According to the man, this alleged surgical negligence has caused him a variety of harms, including disfigurement and mental anguish.
A medical malpractice lawsuit has been brought in a court in Illinois by the man in connection to the alleged wrong-site surgery. The lawsuit reportedly names the above-mentioned doctor and the company which employed this doctor at the time of the above-mentioned surgery as defendants. It has been reported that damages are being sought in this lawsuit.
As the allegations in this medical malpractice case underscore, surgical negligence can cause a great deal of harm to patients. Thus, one hopes that medical professionals are held accountable when they commit negligence like that alleged in this case.
