Wrongful death lawsuit brought against doctor, medical center

| Oct 12, 2012 | Failure To Diagnose & Misdiagnosis

It is very important for medical professionals and medical facilities to not act negligently in regards to the testing, examining and diagnosing of patients. Such medical negligence can cause a great deal of harm.

Recently, a wrongful death case involving allegations of the above-mentioned type of negligence has arisen. The case is from Illinois. The case involves a now-deceased woman who reportedly had a bilateral mammogram performed on her in September 2010.

The woman’s husband alleges that negligence occurred in connection to this mammogram. Included among the husband’s allegations are allegations that the mammogram was not performed properly and that the mammogram’s results were not read properly.

According to the woman’s husband, the negligence that allegedly occurred in relation to the mammogram resulted in there being delays in the detection and treatment of cancer the woman suffered from. The woman’s husband claims that these delays contributed the woman’s eventual death.

A wrongful death lawsuit has been brought by the woman’s husband in a court in Illinois in connection to these allegations. The medical center where the mammogram was reportedly performed and the doctor who reportedly performed the mammogram have been named as defendants in this lawsuit. The lawsuit reportedly is asking for monetary damages.

No patient should have to suffer harm or lose their life because a medical professional or medical facility acted negligently while examining, testing or diagnosing them. Thus, one hopes that all medical professionals and medical facilities make sure to avoid engaging in negligence like that alleged in this case.
